SUV Randomly Broken Into Near Agent's Home; Reward Offered

Seven weapons, including two submachine guns, were stolen last weekend from an FBI agent's vehicle in Southwest Washington, the agency said yesterday.

Also taken were ammunition, a police radio, bullet-resistant vests, body armor and photography equipment, the FBI said.

"We understand the seriousness of those weapons in the hands of untrained individuals," said Joseph Persichini Jr., head of the FBI's Washington field office. "We have employed significant resources and have been working on this since Saturday. We are doing everything possible to identify those responsible and recover the property."

    "Untrained individuals???" How about criminals!!

They did break into a law enforcement vehicle and steal things, didn't they?

But posessing these weapons in DC is illegal!!! Don't these untrained individuals know that?!

And people wonder why DC's crime rate is so high.

....not the first time this has happened and won't be the last time either.

Yeah, that "untrained individuals" comment was an extremely stupid thing to say.

Further proof if any were needed, of the trash the media likes to put out. There should be a gun savvy reporter on every newspaper for these articles, who just might apply correct spin - dream on I guess.

P95...that comment was apparently said by the Special Agent-in-Charge of the FBI Washington Field Office; but you are right about the trash most "popular" press puts out regarding guns. The comment shows that many of us in LE can spout caca too.

I would guess that several FBI policies were broken by the agent regarding weapon storage.

Ill bet money on a no knock warrantless search at full throttle when the ding dings turn on the GPS radio. Thats one more reason to support purchases from your local storefront gunshop and avoid a good deal on a back alley bargain.
