When you’re wounded and left on Afghanistan’s plains,
And the women come out to cut up what remains,
Just roll to your rifle and blow out your brains,
And go to your God like a soldier.

I was in the Navy from 1986 to 1993. I was an FC1 and my first ship was a Battleship, USS Wisconsin BB-64, second was a cruiser, USS R. K. Turner CG-20. I went through the Gulf War in 1991 on the Turner.
Medically discharged in December 1993 due to an injury to my knees (I bent them backwards, the right much worse than the left) in GITMO.
I have had 12 operations total to repair them and I think that I am as good as I am going to get now. Last operation was in 1995.
That right knee looks pretty interesting on an X-ray. Lots of pins and screws and a rod or two in there.
