It is scary, isn't it? Even worst there are dozens of scenarios just as scary that you haven't seen, and the odds of catching them all are slim.
Hate to say it, but every day that goes buy and something like this doesn't happen should be the real surprise.

This is what night mares are made of. This could an easy target. We have been very lucky so for as far as the home frount goes. What will happen after our troops come home? I guess we can secure our borders better with our troops here .
Since the experience of 9/11, where one totally normal day was followed by mayhem - I take every day as it comes with gratitude, knowing that once again our lives can be overturned in the blink of an eye.
It is this aspect which IMO, in a sense, means that terrorism has scored - because we do not know what is next and will always be wondering ........ that is how they like to keep things.
We can but keep this in mind and be watchful for anything which might be suspect when out and about, and be prepared.

The purpose or terror is to curtail freedom of the general population, and make them better tools for "negotiation". In the current context, do not be confused: this is an assault of Socialism and Islamic theocracy against us. The "Big One" will come when it is felt that the most draconian response will come down on us- there will not be a crackdown on the "suspect demographic", as that would be a "hate-crime". Witness: if the IRA was rising in the US today, we could not combat them- it would be discriminatory.
I was thinking about something this morning.
Several vans with the sliding doors on each side, lets say driving outbound in the morning (away from the downtown area where people are heading into work)
Open the sliding doors and open up with a few AK47s, RPGs, Molotov's...anything.
The loss of life more than likely wouldn't be that high...but the panic and terror would be greater then the DC sniper.
AS for Rob72s post....all I can say is....amen
Bottom line is - just about anything could be tried - it is about as potentially varied in method as immagination can dream up and .... that's an awful lot of potential scenarios
dunndw's thought is VERY possible - frighteningly so.

The worst part is that we currently face an enemy that can scarcely be defended against, and the people of this country, by and large, are lulled into a false sense of security and complacency.
If you talk about the war or the potential danger of possibe future attacks with people, they don't want to hear it. I have had people tell me, "I don't want to think about that kind of stuff because it upsets me."
Not allowing yourself to live in fear of what might happen is admirable, but living in total denial like most folks do, is quite different.
I'm not paranoid, and don't plan my daily activities around what I think the next terror attack might be. You can't let it control your life, or the terrorists have won, but you shouldn't live in blissful ignorance either, which is what I think most people are doing in this country.

What are rules 21 and 22?
21. Be polite. Be professional. But, have a plan to kill everyone you meet.
22. Be courteous to everyone, friendly to no one.
It in NOT a matter of 'IF'...
This week?
This month?
This year?
But soon...
Stay armed...stay safe!

True, there are too many scenarios to contemplate. dunndw just threw one out I hadn't thought of yet.
The big ones (big city refinery) do more damage and cost more money. Several little ones (mall shootings, freeway shootings, small bombs in a small town cafe) would probably cause more panic as rural America would no longer feel safe. You just have to keep alert, keep an escape plan where ever you go, and realize you can't live forever in a closet and can't live in constant fear that something might happen.
Keep yourself safe, but don't forget to live life!

and I'm sure there will some attorney who will defend these dirtbags...that's why they need to put down immediately.
Terrorism is NOT a law enforcement issue (per se). Terrorism is an act of war and should be handled accordingly.
