As attacks occur many, including the pols, demand to government do more to protect us. What results is a more powerful government and weaker rights and freedoms for the citizens. On 911, the Underwear Bomber, the Shoe Bomber, The Train Attack and others, it was the citizens who stopped the attack. We need to stop restricting the citizens power to protect themselves.
I read this earlier. Makes sense but way too many Libs for this to catch on. Even though there are probably many buying guns they'll never come out and admit it. This will never catch on for political reasons.
The American Revolution was a striking exception to this trend where individuals took to defending their property and their liberty from an organized enemy who wanted to take both.
We should renew the American tradition of tough, self-reliant citizens who are not afraid to confront terrorists. Instead of fearing guns, they promote responsible gun ownership and training so that citizens can protect themselves and their communities. U.S. cities and states can reform their gun laws and educational programs to make it easier for those who are skilled and trained to have weapons in public places. In any major American city, 99.99% of people are not terrorists. Those are good odds in an attack, but only if citizens are equipped to defend themselves.
Why are 72 people on terrorist watch list working in Department of Home Security . We all know TSA a joke . Why is this happening.
I agree Arm up America . We need to protect our selves Can't count on Whitehouse or Congress to do it. It our job to protect our families and ourselves. If Americans do that then cities and country will become safer . Rifle behind every blade of grass .
Every individual who wants to actually have increased means of survival on the instant of a situation unfolding in front of him needs to actually take personal responsibility for that. Go armed, if you want to survive. Don't, if not. Would make a huge dent in overall street crime, when nearly everyone would have potential means of withstanding such cretins. Would make a huge dent in how long multi-victim scenarios last, when nearly all would-be victims turn the tables on these idiots.
Add to that increasing scrutiny for travelers, visitors, folks on visas and whatnot, then we'd be getting somewhere.
Wishful thinking.
Thanks Bama61 for making a point.
We live in a country full of selfish, self centered, unwilling, uncaring folks for the most part. The lesser part (increasing by the minute) are already getting government handouts, defrauding the government, or employed by the government and have no reason to buck the system so long as it works for them. We live in a nation full of spineless cowards within the government and in society.
Now tell me....how "tough" is it to accept this fact?
The only reason America is weak is because the people are weak and ask a weak (corrupt and fascist) government to protect them. The ignorant don't know and don't care that this is not the way America was designed. The basic foundations have been removed from public schools and education. Again, the downward spiral to the point of no return. If I had the time, I'd surely sit down and cry for America and what it has become. Weak, spineless, and selfish. In all truth and honesty, we'll get what we deserve soon enough (it's already rather blatant). We have so many problems in this country now that it's difficult to get down to and assess the basics and the fixes. What I'm saying is it's way too late and some of us best just take stock in that idea and do what we do. Then get a bit more serious about what we've been doing, move it up a notch, enjoy the upcoming holidays, and family/loved ones.
I'm just sayin'
I am old fashion and I was brought up to be self reliant which meant solving disputes, protecting family and family 's property.Folks rely too much on police to referee disputes in a way that either side is happy because it's politically correct.
It seems if you are an American Christian we don't deserve the same consideration as other religious groups despite our country's leaders were Christian when they formed our country and we are the vast majority today. I am sick of immigrants coming in my country and suing organizations because it insults their religion. Back in thee day, when you were lucky enough to come in our great country you assimilated. You went to night school to learn English so you could make a better live, not the other way around thinking you can come here and make us your religion.I ask, what wrong with our leaders?
For the most part, yes. Most seem to want their safety and security handed to them on a platter. Doesn't work that way, in the real world. Many victims recognize this, albeit too late to do a damned thing about it.
Better to realize it beforehand. Our lives depend upon it, just as surely as gearing-up prior to a winter hike through the mountains.
This administration has been ass backwards and upside down from day one, treating citizens as potential terrorists and terrorists as potential citizens.
I think this administration is more scared of the veterans and patriots of this country then they are of the terrorists. They can't bomb us, put us in Guantanamo Bay or use there "common sense" propaganda to control us. Next best thing is to try too disarm us anyway possible. Weather that be straight forward or backdoor our 2A.
But how will the poor little easily offended buttercups react, after all doing anything is an offensive act of micro-terrorism and must be suppressed at all costs.
Even a paramecium knows to do this, basically. It's hard-wired in every living thing. Big-brained animals most particularly. But seemingly only in humans is it commonplace for folks to ignore the wiring and abdicate their responsibilities as living, breathing animals and members of the group.
Such folks learn, at some point. So does the group.
