3 shot in Atlanta attempted mall robbery

ATLANTA (AP) — Three people were shot during an attempted robbery at a shopping mall Saturday, police said. One person was critically wounded.
Authorities were still piecing together what happened, but said that the shootings happened around 5:15 p.m. in a store at Greenbriar Mall. One of the injured people was a security guard, police said.

The suspects, three young men, got away in a sport-utility vehicle, police said.

All three of the injured were taken to a hospital, where two people were listed in stable condition, police said.

Now only if a law-abiding citizen who was carrying had been there, maybe the BGs would have been taken to the hospital instead. But, the anti's would have a field day saying the BGs were troubled youth.

I don't know about that mall...but a bunch of them in TN are no carry zones. They'll NEVER get robbed...the bad guys won't carry a gun where it's posted.
They're all sunshine and buttercups in those malls.

What malls in Tennessee are posted?

None that I am aware of here in the Memphis area are posted no carry zones.

GA is no carry at a public gathering. Which is not supposed to include malls but it is not well defined so it's anything goes when the LEO stops you

100 Oaks is posted for the inside properties last time I checked.
Rivergate/Hickory Hollow Mall (2nd hand info...I don't go there much)

It's been said that Opry Mills is, but I haven't personally seen any signs.

What is it with the malls? I don't ever go to the mall anyway. don't really have a reason and I hate the crowds. Good riddance.

Liability is such a b.s. argument in cases like this.
Liability for what? How would the mall be liable for someone doing something that is legal? Could someone actually sue them for allowing people to do something that is *gasp* legal?!

I'd worry more about my liability if I told people they couldn't protect themselves and then failed to protect them.

If a mall's owners are worried about liability like that, maybe they should ban cars from the parking lot. Those things cause far more carnage than guns do.

I think a lot of businesses let the lawyers run wild and dictate policies. They seem to be afraid that a law abiding citizen will see a bad guy shooting people, pull their own gun and take out a bunch of bystanders by accident.

They are afraid someone would then make a case that since they didn't ban guns, they were somehow responsible for the good guy killing an innocent by accident.

Sad thing is that if these same people who ban guns are there when the bad guy starts shooting, they would pray that someone around them has a gun with which to protect them.
