I feel for all involved, especially the LEO's who I am sure have come under some heat by the media on this deal. You never see the media asking the tough questions about where were the parents & how did they raise such a child.

Nope instead it will be how could these cops use deadly force on such a kind & young child.

It's a shame, but it appears there was no choice given.

How did this 13-y.o. kid manage to fire a shotgun out the window at police while he was driving?

Well, you just take both hands off the wheel, kneel on the seat with the 12ga in hand, and ... Easy. Of course, that makes navigation of the next intersection a bit tricky. But then, 13yrs old doesn't win any sweepstakes for brilliance, armed with car + gun + lack of judgment.

It's a sad time for his parents and the LEOs who had no other choice. Some kids go bad even if they are brought up right. I hate to hear stories like this.

Another situation where we could use more facts.

Not about the incident itself but about the kid's background.

I don't know yet what to feel toward the parents.

They could be good people who just found out the hard way that the kid is a piece of S*%!. In that case, my heart would go out to them.

Or, they could be losers themselves who had a hand in him turning out the way he did. In that case, I would feel no sorrow for them. They reaped what they sowed.

But for now, I will assume the best, that the kid just went bad and offer my tentative condolences to the family.

It isn't the age, gender, or physical size of the individual....it is the resources (weapons) and intent. This child was a danger to not only the officers, but to anyone who got in his way. They had no choice. I am sad whenever a child dies, but I am also sad for the officers forced into this action. I know it isn't easy on them.
