Just saw the following on Military.com. Click the title to got to the full story. You might want to contact your representative, if you have an opinion, one way or the other. Personally, I'm for any increase in benefits the military can get. It's still not enough, especially for the families.
White House Hits Pay Plans
As the House of Representatives prepared to pass its fiscal 2008 defense authorization bill, the White House urged lawmakers to reconsider the initiatives added. The following is a list of intiatives, passed unanimously by the House panel, but opposed by the administration.
- 3.5 percent pay raise
- Block TRICARE fee increases
- CRSC eligibility expansion
- New survivor indemnity allowance
- Active Force increases
- Increased Reserve GI Bill benefits
