It sounds like the Illinois senator may be useing gestapo tatics. What I would like to know is why the state police are not investigating the senator for misuse of his powers by useing the state police to harass citizens. I wonder who authorized the misspent funds to do so.

Any one have an E mail address for the senator? I sure hope he dosen't send the troopers to Florida to question me.

Limatunes thanks for the E mail address for Sen. Dan Kotowski. The message I sent wasn't nasty but was to the point. I hope some of the other members of the forum take the time to do the same.

    What I sent him...
If this were to happen in my state you would be brought up on criminal charges, count yourself lucky.

The ISRA is expressing great concern over reports that Illinois State
Police (ISP) detectives have been visiting the homes of people who phoned
or faxed Sen. Dan Kotowski (D-Park Ridge) to express opposition to gun
control legislation sponsored by the senator. The ISRA has recently
conducted a thorough investigation into one complaint, and is gathering
additional information on as many as several dozen other reported incidents
of police questioning citizens who have spoken out against gun control
    legislation.

Well, since the IL State Police were involved, should not the investigation be carried out by the Feds? Say, the FBI, BATFE and Special Prosecutor Fitzgerald (give him something real to do).

The Senator and the ISP should be sued in civil court for violation of civil rights (the 1st Amendment in this case).

Definitely sending an e-mail to the Senator and he can't do squat now that I don't live in IL anymore.

Man, am I glad I escaped from that Nazi state. Now I need to get my daughter and her family back to civilization! She's still trapped there.

Why would we expect the people to have respect for the law when LEOs don't seem to. The law enforcement community need to police their own ranks!

I did read recently that the good Senator got some specific death threats.

Nothing that the Commies in the Peoples Republik of Illinois do surprises me anymore. What amazes me is that the "state" of Illinois can be surrounded as it is by freedom loving states and yet it holds out with its idiotic thinking and anti gun stand on everything.

Maybe we should invade the PRI as long as we are serious about fighting terrorism.

One would hope that the investigating officers would ask to see the proof of harrasment from the office of the senator prior to calling on the citizens. At that point if the evidance showed no threats or other possible illegal activity they should have declined to become involved. I hope if there was no reason for the investigations of the citizens that a court case is brought against the senator and the police department with several heads rolling because of it.

P.S. Some of you may dislike the NRA, but most legal gun owners in the rest of the world wished they had an organization like the NRA to protect them, it's kind of like democracy, it sucks, but still better than the rest.
