There are terrorist cells in our country. There will be more attacks. I worry a lot more about our government and it's efforts to destroy our country.
"There are terrorist cells in our country. There will be more attacks. I worry a lot more about our government and it's efforts to destroy our country."
I've rarely heard it put more succinctly than this, so here goes (from Michael Rivero):
"[L]et us for a moment stipulate that, yes indeed, Al Qaeda is back stronger than ever. What does that really mean?
It means that all the spying, the searches of our homes and computers, the constant TV cameras, the fondling of our wives and daughters at the airports, the wiretaps, the reading of our emails, the torture ... HAVE ALL FAILED.
None of it works. All that time and money has been a total waste. For all the suffering and inconvenience inflicted on the American people, Homeland Security failed.
This will be all the more true if there is a new terror attack. It will mean that all those government officials who promised us safety if would but lay our entire lives bare before them lied to us. It will mean that there really isn't anything to be gained by going along with the repression any more, indeed to even listen to them will be totally pointless. It means that all the fondling of our wives and daughters at the airport was just that; a bunch of perverts waving a badge to get their jollies with their machines that look at you without your clothes on.
There is one and only one way to end terrorism, and that is to stop screwing around with other peoples' countries. When you stop screwing around with other peoples countries, the terrorists will go home. and when you start finding and hanging the spies for foreign government pretending to be terrorists to trick you into war on that foreign government's enemies, we will have peace and freedom." -- M. Rivero 7/11/07
Let's connect just some of the dots. We have neo-con politcos from the US and Israel ramping up the noise about attacking Iran, we have all these new warnings about "terror cells" and "gut feelings", Rick Santorum opines that new terror attacks will change the public's opinion about Iraq/Afghanistan and now we have a *third* carrier group headed for the Gulf. As the Chinese curse goes, maybe there are some "interesting times" ahead.
Got pretext? :gah:
Even then, if we all join Islam, they won't go away. Heck they kill each other over disagreements within their own religion.
Makes sense. We've split our resources between stabilizing Iraq and hunting for the bad guys in Afgan.
Mindset and public/congressional support.
Drum Beats Of A Up & Coming Election Election Year?
Real Intel Gone Public?
Administration With a Blackened Eye Searching For Past Glory?
All of the above?
Is it me? Or was the Cold War a bit more cut and dry and a more honorable way of killing humanity, (Less The Threat Of Total Annihilation). I guess the Bay Of Pigs was the good ol days.
At least then we knew who the enemy was, or at least thought we did. Now, it could be the guy next door, and if it is, your not allowed to say anything because it wouldn't be politically correct and may hurt someone's feelings.

i refuse to listen to anyone from the Bush administration talk about AlQueda until the US southern border is secured. Terrorists have been caught crossing the Mexican border but no one at the Feel Good Homeland Security Dep't wants to talk about it.
"The investigators found that on this day, several individuals of this kind were being detained here, including some from Sudan, Iran, and even Iraq."
"These are just the ones who were caught."
"These detainees are called 'other than Mexicans' or OTM's. Most will eventually be sent back to their home country."
"But some disappear very quickly, usually before they even reach this center or other holding facilities. They're taken away by tight-lipped federal agents to who-knows-where."
"Who are they? They're called 'Special Interest Aliens" or "SIA.""
"According to Ben Anderson, a retired U.S. Army Colonel, The SIA that they don't want to talk about. That's special interest alien. These are people from those countries that we consider terrorist threats.""
"Anderson is a retired U.S. Army Colonel who tracks illegal immigration from his home in Sierra Vista, Arizona. He has a website sharing his research into Special Interest Aliens."
""You will not read about that. You will not hear about that. They will not talk about that. They will not provide that info to the press."
"Colonel Anderson says these Special Interest Aliens originate in the Middle East or Northeast Asia. They travel through Spain to what's called the tri-border area of Brazil, Argentina, and Uruguay, then, to Mexico City."
"They pay to learn Spanish language skills, and by the time they reach the U.S., they're acting and talking like Mexicans to fool border agents.""

Senior U.S. intelligence officials tell ABC News new intelligence from Afghanistan suggests a small al Qaeda cell is on its way to the United States, or may already be here.
Let them come, they're just reinforcing an already "target rich environment".:image035:
Us southern rednecks (infidels) are waiting for a "season" to open. :comeandgetsome:
I wonder how well AQ would survive in the swamps of Southern Louisiana? Can you say "gator-bait"?:22a:
