Tribute to Jim Cirillo
Our industry at lost a cornerstone this week. If you don't read the NRA Bullet Points, here is a direct clip...
"CAR ACCIDENT CLAIMS CIRILLO'S LIFE . . . Jim Cirillo, 76, a renowned firearms instructor, was killed in a tractor trailer collision in Brookfield, N.Y., last Thursday. A member of NYPD's famed stakeout unit, Cirillo is said to have participated in more than 250 armed encounters, some of which he describes in his book, "Guns, Bullets and Gunfights: Lessons and Tales from a Modern Day Gunfighter." Cirillo was a friend to NSSF, helping to instruct mainstream media professionals at NSSF's Media Education Seminars. "Jim was the real deal, and because he was unassuming and had so many great stories to tell the media was drawn to him and that connection helped make him one of the most popular instructors at our media seminars," said Bill Brassard, NSSF's managing director of communications, safety and education. See today's Shooting Wire for a tribute to Cirillo."
Good journey and good rest, Jim.
Scot - we have a thread running about Jim's demise ..
But will leave this one as an entity for now because of the tribute - so folks can see it.
He will for sure be missed greatly by many. R.I.P. Jim.
IMHO the greatest tribute to Cirillo are the lives he saved by sharing his insights on gunfighting .
I copied Scot's post to the other thread and am closing this one.
OK John - that'll work. Best of both worlds, which I had considered.
Scot Van apologized to me for posting dupe material but as I said to him - thought we'd let the tribute have solo exposure just for a while so folks see it.
