I'm at work, and don't have access to the news, so what's the status update?

The fool let the hostages go, which were two women including one with a 6 mo. old baby. They had been in there for a couple off hours before ultimately being released and as of that result the mom going to a neighboring store to ask for help.
Negotiators have a cell phone into to the BG now as per current right now update on CNN...

Well from what I've heard is the local police think they know him from a couple of run in's with him.

He went to the hardware store just prior to going to the office, but they don't know exactaly what he bought.

He told his son to watch the news.

There are only two outcomes that I can determine. They guy blows himself up or he gives himself up.

I will say that the pundits and pontificaters don't know what they are talking about but pretending to.

Do they have an idea of how many people are still in there, or did he let them all go?

CNN says the hostage-taker is the only one left in the building.

I can't decide if this is someone trying to make a point or not. Gut reaction says it is, but I'm second-guessing it. Folks have speculated in the past that modern campaigns could turn violent given the political and economic atmosphere in the US.

From the interviews given by a couple of people who know him the guy has a mental illness. I'm guessing he may have a psychotic depressive disorder, schizophrenia, paranoid-delusional disorder, or bi-polar. Its hard to narrow a diagnosis down much more than that without further information.

I've worked as a psychiatric social worker for 20+ years and have some sympathy for this guy. I hope its resolved peacefully and he can get some treatment. Of course if he gets violent they need to do what they need to do to protect lives.

Mental Illness! Oh thank god he can't possess a firearm, we need to re-ban bombs.

Holy Cow, I'm only like 15 miles from there.
For that matter, I was a few blocks from this location just yesterday.
    Scary.
