    Lets not forget...

What today is. In fact, I'm a little suprised I havent noticed at least one thread about today being Pearl Harbor Day. Let's take a minute this afternoon to remember those events 66 years ago, and what it meant for our country and the world.

    Amen.

I've seen posts on several boards regarding Pearl Harbor today, and made a few myself. I guess I didn't notice that there wasn't one on DC.

A day that will live in infamy.
Liberty is an inherently offensive lifestyle. Living in a free society guarantees that each one of us will see our most cherished principles and beliefs questioned and in some cases mocked. It's worth it.

    Amen Again

I believe the President ordered all government building to fly the flags at half-mast from sunrise to sunset; and state buildings followed suit.

Not today now, but yesterday. 12/7/1941 If that date doesnt stick out for you, our education system really is in trouble.

I marked it on our whiteboard at work yesterday since no one seemed to have a clue. They have a big whiteboard in one of the main hallways that they use for announcements and such. One half had what people were bringing to the holiday pot-luck. The other said..."Yay! It's Friday".
I just added underneath the friday part "It is also PEARL HARBOR DAY! Remember those who came before you."

There was also a surprisingly large number of folks that didn't know or remember Veterans day this year either.

Sadly, not only do we tend to forget things like Pearl Harbor, but the fact that when it happened Europe and the rest of the world had been at war for two years already.

I make it a personal point to always remember both Pearl Harbor AND D-day every year.
