What are your requirements? Are you allowed to wear leather or nylon or what? For leather or leather like you can't go wrong with Safariland or Bianchi. For nylon I like Uncle Mike's. At my Dept. of the Army Police force we wear Uncle Mike's Premium Duty belts.
I used to be supplied with a local leather shop's Sam Brown belt, which had only two edge stitchings. During in-service training in ground fighting it would literally rip in half. We must have ruined approximately 100 belts out of 800 or so troopers. The department went to Safariland with four stitches and it's GREAT!!! It's thick and suede lined, which keeps it from spinning (along with belt keepers).
I'm lucky the department supplies everything $$$. Now that I know better, I would spend the money on the Safariland.:hand10::hand10:
I have long used the Safariland with no buckle and velcro lining, over the matching velcro underbelt. I recently purchased the velcro version with the buckle, as the new chief has the supervisors more closely scrutinizing our gear for adherence to policies. (Policy specifies a buckle.) The city issues cheap flimsy belts, which I will not use.
I was looking at either the uncle mike belt with velcro or the sufrialand but Im not to sure which one Im leaning toward but I like nylon products and am looking to replace everything on my duty belt.and am looking for a good comp to purchase from. In the belt Im not after the traditional type buckle system Im more toward the snap type buckle I want one that is going to take the abuse of day to day use and still come back for more.
Check out Gall's Inc.. Their site is www.galls.com. They are great folks there. They have very good prices to. The Uncle Mike's duty belt has three areas that have to be depressed in order to release the buckle. The standard two on the edges and one in the center to act as a lock. We have been using ours for about 4 or 5 years now without one buckle coming unbuckled in that time. Gall's number for the belt is NP030. This is the nylon belt I would buy if I had to.
I do use a Uncle Mikes belt for my overtime rig... If you use one of these, make sure you get the heavy duty one, and Uncle Mikes pouches and holsters leave a lot to be desired. I load the belt up with Bianchi pouches.
I love leather, but for day to day use in the type of environments that a Duty Belt finds itself in I strongly suggest Nylon. Plus, it's lighter in weight.
Fleas Natividaddy! (Spanglish for Merry Christmas)
My department issuses the reserves nylon duty gear. The belt is a Bianchi Accu-mold, with a Uncle Mikes ProIII holster, Bianchi mag holder, the rest is some local made off brand. It is a very good set up that really holds up well for the price.
