A man fires a rifle for many years, and he goes to war. And afterward he turns the rifle in at the armory, and he believes he's finished with the rifle. But no matter what else he might do with his hands - love a woman, build a house, change his son's diaper - his hands remember the rifle.
Be polite; be courteous; and have a plan to kill everyone you meet.
That's one of my favorite sayings of all time. Most people do seem shocked when they hear it though. I guess they just don't understand.

I guess the journalist has a plan to hug everybody?
He should start with the fellow in the thickest vest in the room.
Lord knows we need more dead journalists.
Having a plan to kill everyone you meet is the way most of us are naturally wired. I know I am. I don't want to kill anyone but if the solid waste strikes the bladed, oscillating air movement device, I want to be as ready as I can be. So I plan.
...To me, not having a plan is planning to fail...

You have never lived until you have almost died. For those that have fought for it, life has a special flavor the protected will never know

Be polite, be professional but have a plan to kill everyone you meet. As has been said, you do not know who might be planning to kill you. I wonder what this guy would think of this: "Its not my job to die for my country, my job is to make the other poor b**tard die for his"

When I was stationed in Viet Nam with the 1st Tactical Fighter Wing at Ben Hoa the sign over the gate said "Wait Hell, I want To Kill something"
Seemed reasonable to me
Gun control is hitting what you aim at
Why not have that plan? They have already planned to kill everyone of us!

I woulda looked at him and said if your so bullet proof why even wear a vest, everybody knows reporters never get killed in war zones.I always liked the line where the sergeant hands a guy an M16 and the journalist says I'm a non combatant and the sergeant replies everybodys a combatant today
