Sheriff's Deputy Out of Line in Hillsborough County, FL?

    Ok,

This is a second thread in the last couple of days the depict LEO's in a bad light. I am not trying to bash LEO's, as God knows that they have a hard job, and it is one that I wouldn't want. I say this after spending 20 years defending this country in the military. I just happened to come across these two videos (the other was the skateboarding kid/Baltimore LEO) and thought I would post them here to start a discussion.

With that said, please watch this video:

Deputy dumps man from wheelchair - MSN Video

And then please let me know what could have possibly caused this deputy to act the way she did. I understand that there was interaction between the deputy and the guy prior to what we see on the tape, and there is no way of knowing what happened prior to what we see on the tape.

But, I feel that regardless of what transpired between them, this deputies action go beyond the pale, and warrant some sort of disciplinary action.

Please let me know your thoughts.

Out of line? There is no question. I hope she is fired.

I don't know what to say. This is why I fear my government, and have such a skeptical opinion of law enforcement.

If it were not for the cameras and the media would this have been given a second thought by the sheriff? How many other people has this kind of thing happened to that went unnoticed by the press?

Just seems like noone has any respect for anyone anymore. The prisoner is in their care - baring some medical reasons, he should leave the jail in somewhat the same physical manner he arrived in unless he's acting up and has to be restrained. If that would have been the case, then he might get a few bumps and bruises on the way in.

    TERRIBLE
Turn the election's in 2014 to a "2A Revolution". It will serve as a 1994 refresher not to "infringe" on our Second Amendment. We know who they are now.........SEND 'EM HOME. Our success in this will be proportional to how hard we work to make it happen.

Glad to see that I am not alone in my thoughts. I am also glad to see that the Sheriff stepped up and apologized, and took some fast action until an investigation is completed.

Is it normal for the beat cops to be suspended w/o pay, and supervisors to be suspended w/ pay?

Certainly not apparent reason for that treatment...the guy never lifter a finger of resistance...the whole group should have an extended/permanent vacation...OMO

I suspect the difference in suspension with and without pay is due to the fact that she is the one who actually physically contacted the prisoner.

I would suspect she's history. When your boss' boss' boss' boss has to publicly apologize for your behavior on the nightly news, it's not a good sign for your career........

Agreed Matt. But I have to say that it is refreshing to see someone step up and admit a wrong, apologize for it, and vow to get to the bottom of the situation. Totally surprised me to hear that from the sheriff, I expected either no comment (worried about legal implications of saying anything else), or some other line stating that they were other facts no shown on the video.

That action shows a total lack of respect...not to mention that the County would be liable for any injuries as a result of that action.

That Jailer is a liability to the Sheriff and her actions are inexcusable. I suspect that she will be out looking for another job in the not to distant future.

I saw the video on TV. It was very senseless. I'm a Corrections Officer and we do some weird things but nothing like that. That can hurt someone and apparently it did. I understand she is being charge with a Felony, and she is on leave. She will get fired I'm sure.
