    USAF Retired - 1970-1993

AFSC 20772 (05K was Army equivalent and CTT was Navy)
    Stationed at:

Lackland AFB (weren't we all?) 02/70
Keesler AFB, Biloxi, MS (arrived a few months after Camille) 03/70
Goodfellow AFB, San Angelo, TX (3 more months of training) 07/70
Darmstadt, Germany 11/70-07/72 (and got credit for a short tour!)
    Misawa, Japan 08/72-08/74
Goodfellow again (as an instructor this time) 08/74-09/75
NTTC Corry Station, Pensacola, FL (continuing my instructor tour) 09/75-09/78
San Vito dei Normanni, Italy (the longest 2 1/2 years of my life) 09/78-03/81
    Fort Meade, MD 03/81-01/84
Edzell, Scotland 01/84-01/88 (great country, great people)
Fort Meade, MD 01/88-06/93 finally retired as MSgt E-7

Various defense contractors since then. Best assignments were Scotland and then Germany. West Texas has a special place in our hearts, too. It turned out that I spent over a third of my career on Army posts, about a third on Navy bases, and a little on Air Force bases.

Thankfully, I never had to go to a combat area, and even though I served it left a feeling of debt to all those who did face combat.
The very atmosphere of firearms anywhere and everywhere restrains evil interference - they deserve a place of honor with all that's good.

    George Washington

USMC Air Winger, Ejection Seat Mechanic, 4years, RF-4B PhotoRecon Phantoms. 1 ejection, 1 crew walked away. Had more dang fun in those 4 years then I should probably admit to. Left the Corps to go fly in the Navy (NavCad), peace broke out and I became an accountant. Dang!

US Air Force 1949 to 1971. I worked on the old Columbine of Eisenhower and was in the Stratigic Air Command under Lemay. I was in the Mace Missile program in Germany and I was a shop supervisor and an instructor for F111 avionics training. I had a stint in Korea and in Germany and Newfoundland. As a civillian I continued to work with military until a second retirement. I served on a spy ship and on remote radar sites in the Aleutian Islands. I taught Iranian Air Force the Hawk missile before the revolution. I carried a Geneva Convention card as a civillian. I retired a second time from a job as a civillian engineer. Now I rest on my little three acre place and go shooting when I feel like it and do very little but read and surf on the computer.
