I was a 14N Intel Officer for 1.5 years and for the last 4.5 I was a Logistics Officer in the AF. I deployed to Iraq doing Army stuff for 8 months. I am seperated from the service I served 11 Aug-2001-10 Sept 2007 due to the Force Shaping that is going on. Trying to get in the reserves right now at Andrews AFB.

state6three8 - are you sure about that re-flagging? I was in the 1-509th in 1995, and we sure weren't in Vincenza! A and B Co's and D Troop were at Ft. Polk, and C Co was the pathfinder unit for the aviation school at Rucker. The 509th left Italy (and was replaced by the 3/325) in 1983...though the 3-509th exists again (as of 2005) as part of the 4th BCT, 25th ID, in Alaska.
A man fires a rifle for many years, and he goes to war. And afterward he turns the rifle in at the armory, and he believes he's finished with the rifle. But no matter what else he might do with his hands - love a woman, build a house, change his son's diaper - his hands remember the rifle.

USAF Munitions Systems Specialist 1993-97. Stationed at Langley AFB in VA. TDY to Dhahran Saudi Arabia from Aug 94-Nov 94. Volunteered to go back to Al Kharj Saudi Arabia from Feb96-Jun96. I left Dhahran Saudi Arabia 5 days before the Khobar bombing that killed 19 airmen. They knew it was coming, just not where or when. My primary job was air to air missiles and so we supported the jets that flew the southern watch missions while in the AOR in 94. In 96, I was sitting in the middle of the desert with a handful of other ammo troops doing routine inspections on a large munitions stockpile. Basicly we spent most of our time catching scorpions and camel spiders and trying to make them fight in our aquarium of death.(the scorpions always won)

Retired Air Force from 1974 to 1994. First 2 years in "Intelligence" as a ditty bop otherwise known as a Morris systems intercept operator. After that tour at RAF Chicksands England I cross trained to Entomology in Civil Engineering. Stuck with it until the Clinton in 1990's. Couldn't serve a president that wanted to take my weapons away from me. I retired and opened up my own Pest Control Shop. My wife also served and retired in 1996. Both of us retired as MSgts. In 18 years of joint spouse duty we always were able to serve at the same theater together.
    Life member NRA since 1983
I carry a Kimber Ultra Carry II in a Crossbreed SuperTuck. My wife carries a Walther PPS .40 w/Crossbreed holster.
