IIRC the proper answer to that question is: YOU BET YOUR A$$.

But of course. I remember when I was let into this elite society, right afterward, I was introduced to the sounds of turtles making love. They sound (and felt) remarkably like a steel pot crashing down upon another steel pot when worn on an unsuspecting new turtles head. Later on, these morphed into the newer "Fritz" helmet. I liked being able to cook or shave in my steel pot. Still, the "Fritz" has been known to literally stop an AK round from penetrating.

National Service, Norwegian Army 1980-82. Norwegian Homeguard 1984-2002. Most of the time as a sapper officer. I had hoped to serve until I turned 55 but unfortunately when the Russians became our new best friends, the Armed Forces, including the Home Guard, were decimated and I was kicked out. But the worst thing was that I had to turn in my selective fire AG3 assault rifle I kept in the closet for 18 years. Boy, do I miss that rifle!

    yeah,
The pot did have it's uses but Kevlar does stop small projectiles that would otherwise ruin my day. It's a trade off I guess.

The kevlar still has its uses. It works as a pillow much better then the steel pot ever did.
