    U.S. Army - 1986 - 1997

Ended my career as a Captain.

    Artillery and Infantry (Airborne)

Fortunately I never saw any combat. I was stationed in West Germany from 1987 - 1990 when the Berlin wall fell, an interesting moment in history. My single most fun event was a joint training exercise with the Australian army. I spent 6 days on an Australian naval vessel and earned my Australian jump wings while I was there.

Wow, we're almost mirror images: I was active at Fort Lewis 1980-84 I left as an 03 and I was FORCED out of the IRR by the Clinton RIF in 1994. Right after I finished AOAC at Fort Knox.

Question to the assembled vets: How do I go about finding a LONG LOST ARMY BUDDY? I suspect he's still on active duty since when we were active, he was being "groomed" by the chain of command for "great deeds." He was a West Point grad and a specialist in TOW's. I mean he helped bring TOW II online (online having a different meaning in the 1980s). I got out and he kept in touch for awhile, but we lost track. He was my best bud and helped me thru some really horrific traumas associated with being a Second Lieutenant. lol Anybody have any ideas? I do not have his ssn. His name is Marty Russo. Maybe somebody knows him? I think he was West Point class of 1980.
