I've been around the Army for just a "few" years.
Started out, Regular Army 1972, went to school at Ft Belvoir, VA, 52B.
First Assignment, 1/40 Field Arty (8"), Hanau, Germany, also worked as a 63C. Then went to 8th Maint Bn, also Hanau, then up to Frankfurt, HQ, 3d Support Command (V COSCOM).
Fort Bliss, 77 to 79, 2/55 Air Defense Arty (IHAWK), worked as 52B, 71L, 71D, 63B. THen to Schweinfurt, Germany 79 to 83, 3/7 Air Defensense Arty (IHAWK), 63B, and Training NCO.
VT Army Guard Since then, 50th Maint Bn, 186 Forward Support Bn and finally 1/86th Field Arty (155's) 63B, 63H, 52D.
Have a son that served in Iraq, as a Guardsman, worked Maint in a provisional MP unit.

21 years in the Air Force 1968-1989. Retired as a CMSgt (E-9).
One year Vietnam, four years in Spain. Stateside assignments in Mississipi x2; California x2, Oklahoma, Illinois, and some time in Texas.

U.S.Army Reserves, active duty 1971 to 1973. Stationed at Florida State University. Never went to basic training. Never wore a uniform. Never went to AIT. Army scholarship. Walter Reed Army Institute of Nursing. 2 yrs any college, 2 yrs at Walter Reed (MD) after 4 yrs college graduate 1st LT. Guaranteed Cpt in 4 yrs. Was a twin and we both went in together, I got out after 3 yrs. (now I am a vet) My sister was on the same program. She is LTC. Father was LTC. My twin was CPT when he died in 2001 (at47) I'm the civillian!!!

When were you in VF-121? I was in it when they brought the F-4S aircraft to VF-151 & VF- 161 on the USS Midway and took the F-4J back to the states in 80-81
