    Here is why its bad;

    You are only going to see a split second and a very narrow point of view just before the shots are fired, suspect falling to the ground and thats about it.
    The events leading up to the shooting are the important part, not the actual shooting itself. Given how the media loves to sensationalize police actions, this is only going to add more fuel to their fire, and soon enough, these things will become entertainment for the masses.

    Just look on Youtube or the dozen or so "Reality" T.V. shows- they are well stocked with dash cam footage and even the new Taser Cam footage, a lot of which should not be so widely available.

    Agreed - it's all about perspective ...

    BG with a knife turns away from the officer towards a bystander, officer draws and fires. What do we see on T.V. the next day? Officer shooting a man in the back. He'd better hope there's several witnesses to confirm his version of events...

    But gee guys, all of your concerns about these cameras could be remedied by placing high resolution video cameras on poles on every street corner. You see that way when something goes down you would have your gun cam footage to supplement your dash cam footage and the street cam to put it all in perspective!

    Why not have an ACLU lawyer pop out each time an officer pulls his weapon. Could be added on to the pistol-cam law.
