I shouldn't have to log on to a forum like this to get this news. It should have been in every paper in the nation and on the evening news.

There is plenty of blah, blah, blah about some guy who says he's going to do something for his country, instead of news about a guy who actually did.

1960s, he joined the Army and became a paratrooper, Drum said, to conquer his fear of heights. On a training jump, both of his parachutes failed.

"He was the last one out of the airplane and the first one on the ground," Drum said.
I wonder if that conquered his fear of heights,I read about him many years ago when I read storys about medal of honor recipients and the actions that resulted in the award.Talk about honor duty loyalty

And when he gets to heaven
To Saint Peter he will tell,
    "One more Marine reporting, Sir,
I've served my time in Hell."

    God bless you!

He that shall live this day, and see old age,
Will yearly on the vigil feast his neighbours,
And say 'To-morrow is Saint Crispian.'
Then will he strip his sleeve and show his scars,
And say 'These wounds I had on Crispian's day.'
Old men forget; yet all shall be forgot,
    But he'll remember, with advantages,
What feats he did that day.

    God Bless Mr. Lucas indeed

I live here in Mississippi where he passed and they did not say anything until today. That is a shame. May he rest in peace.
