    For 3 days? It doesnt really matter if they left the base or not, he still deprived someone (the airforce) else of their property, and he had took possession of firearms he should not have had to begin with, stolen or not.

    If I come into your yard and hide your weed wacker from you so I can steal it later, its still an offense (the name will vary from state to state)

    CATM personnel normally take the weapons to and from the range depending on where the range is in relation to the classroom.
