Man accused in border agent's death freed in Mexico

    Associated Press

TUCSON - The head of the union representing U.S. Border Patrol agents says a man imprisoned in Mexico in connection with a Yuma-based agent's death has been released by a Mexican judge.

National Border Patrol Council president T.J. Bonner says an unidentified Mexican judge released Jesus Navarro for time served.

"Every Border Patrol agent in the country is outraged and stunned by this," Bonner said.

Border Patrol spokesmen in Washington did not return a call immediately, but the Department of Homeland Security was preparing a statement.

Navarro, arrested Jan. 22 in Mexico, was being held in a Mexicali prison. Mexico had sought him for allegedly smuggling migrants.

He was suspected of running over and killing Border Patrol agent Luis Aguilar on Jan. 19 as Aguilar tried to deploy spike strips to stop his drug-filled vehicle in southeastern California.

This shows the Mexican Government"s complete disdain for U.S. laws. U.S. Border Patrol agents can't even defend themselves without going to jail.
"These are the times that try men's souls. The summer soldier
and the sunshine patriot will, in this crisis, shrink from the
service of his country; but he that stands it now, deserves the
love and thanks of man and woman."

-- Thomas Paine (The American Crisis, No. 1, 19 December 1776)

At this point, I don't care whether the shooting was on the up and up. Free Ramos and Compean. Bush should pardon them today.

If loose gun laws are good for criminals why do criminals support gun control?

The 'Pubs' have been a great disappointment on anything to do with the border...the Dems' aren't even on the scale...is there a politician anywhere who gets it?

Mmmmmm...maybe one, Sheriff Arpaio of Maricopa County in AZ...

I agree with your entire statement.

You couldn't pay me enough to to their job. They get no support whatsoever from our gov't.

This surprises anyone? Jesus will have all the free hookers, tequila & weed he can handle (provided by the Mexican Military and 75+% of the po-po), I'm sure.

There's a reason we knocked on the gates of Mexico City after Goliad. Things haven't changed...

Maybe he finally will pardon them his last days in office. As we have seen with past presidential pardons alot of them happen in the 11th hour before they leave office(i.e Bill Clinton especially). I agree they should be freed now!

I wish they would use the National Guard to hold doen the border, and shoot anything that comes through. It makes me so angry because there is a right way of becoming a citizen, and not becoming a "get-over". I feel if you want to become an American citizen you should:

Serve the country for at least 2 years or do the "test"
    Mixed Martial Arts Record= 2-0.......Kyokushin Karate Record=5-0

USMC.....helping enemies of America die for their countries since 1775

I agree with the troops at the border. Of course, you'd have the wussie crowd screaming "Posse Comitatus!Posse Comitatus!" I say that since we are being invaded, it's a military matter.

I say, put them on the fast track to citizenship if they volunteer to military service, especially in Iraq/Afghanistan. Otherwise, wait in line.
