Thats some old school gear ya got there JD.

Two generations of vests down the road, MARPAT now, issued M-16A4's with ACOGs, laser designators and forward grips/bipods, new Ontario bayonets.

Thats like the stone age! (But we still use the same darned radios).

This reminds me that about a year ago, I was on the firing party for the Marine that talked me into enlisting - Hell of a man; Hell of an honor.
The preceding post may contain sarcasm; it's just better that way. However, it is still intended with construction and with the Love of my L-rd Y'shua.

    That's cause you're a NUG. :)

I'll try to scan a pic of us getting ready to SPIE rig that I have on the wall at work tomorrow.

I tapped this to our front door when JD got his DD214.

and made this from a collection of his dog tags, photography and photoshop...

I found this on our car (that has a Marine Corps license plate in the front and an EGA in the back) in a WalMart parking lot and it made me tear up...

One of the photos that I most remember is the one of the Marine Corps Honor Guard unloading a flag draped casket from the baggage compartment of an airliner, while the passengers in the plane look on, their somber faces framed in the plane's windows. It was taken at night, I believe.

That photo always gets to me.

I'm pretty sure it has been posted here, but I can't remember when.

It is/was here as part of a series of photos. Probably in this section of the forum.

One of my Marines over in Desert Storm. Always had a tough time getting him to dig a deep enough fighting hole.......

......that changed once people actually started shooting at him!
