    What crap! You have every right to photo just about anything you want. Not government instillations for example but a cop is fair game even if they don't like it. After all, they are taking a video and audio recording of you the moment their lights go on.

    Some of the behavior Texian posted about was indeed disturbing, and certainly could have legitimately frightened the officer if it went down as described.

    However, then the charges should have been along the line of "menacing" and not "he was arrested because he took a photo."

    There is a vast difference between taking a photo and menacing. And in this situation the facts are sufficiently ambiguous that it is likely not possible to determine the true intent of the arrested photographer.

    Sounds like bad judgment all around. But on one side, they get paid to use good judgment.
