NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Metro Police said an undercover officer fatally shot a teenager who was approaching him with a gun, which was later found to be an air pistol.
A news release from the department on Friday said the person shot was 18-year-old Tyrell Chandler Wortham of Nashville, a recent graduate of McGavock High School.
Police spokesman Don Aaron said Officer Josh Walters, 32, posed as a pizza delivery man late Thursday night after a Hermitage Pizza Hut received a call for an order that made employees suspicious.

On the news tonight, his aunt, who had raised him, said she did not blame the police, but a culture which glorified violence: Grand Theft Auto, movies, etc. She and a cousin asked why he could not have been shot in the leg, or otherwise disabled. Not possessed of much understanding of the dynamics of defensive shooting, but at least she's not blaming law enforcement.
If the public are bound to yield obedience to laws to which they cannot give their approbation, they are slaves to those who make such laws and enforce them.--Samuel Adams as Candidus, Boston Gazette 20 Jan. 1772

"He was a beautiful young man who carried a heavy heart."
Yeah, right...he was a little thug with no heart!
I guess Tyrell won't be ordering any more late night pizzas...

The Second Amendment has nothing to do with hunting. It is about keeping the government in check. This requires that the citizenry is well armed and at all times has immediate access to arms.

Read the comments, the people who knew him want to nominate him for sainthood. It's a shame when anyone dies, but it was his choice.
