No disrespect intended to the deputy, he was doing his duty, but there is a reason why a lot of departments ignore "alarm calls" the fact is that 95+% of them are false, and while we wont know what the mindset of this officer was, As you can read above other officers dislike having to go play Security guard.
All citizens have the right to expect a prompt response from law enforcement when they are called upon,, many cities like Dallas or Houston will not dispatch on a burg alarm at all unless one of two things has happened, 1 the homeowner has paid the city a fee to get an alarm permit, or 2 there is someone at the location. DFW wont even talk to alarm companies unless the "citizen" has a permit,,, is this a good thing?
I think it is, first why tie down leo's to babysit your house because you "forgot" you armed your system then left while the delay was ticking you drove off, Secondly the alarm industry is to blame for this as well, there are alarm companies who insist on 2nd party verification but there are also those that simply say "dispatch" then 5 minutes later they get the "cancel" call.
The alarm industy as viewed by many police departments is "selling" a public service, this is far from the truth,,, they are providing a service to the citizens, the problem is that there are "false alarms" which 99% of the time are user error or stupidity on behalf of the "protected"
I guess my rant here is that sure this was not a "false alarm" but my question is this,,,,if all the people who have those systems really understood what officers go through each and every time they get an alarm call and do respond would they be more responsible in the way they treated their alarms???
ok sorry end of rant... got to go got another alarm call,,,,,, lol

Too bad the deputies' rounds did not find the mark.

Problem w/ death penalty is the ages of the BG.
We'd like to see it, but of course BG granny doesn't think the 'babies' are criminals.
