    New U.S. Navy Uniforms

Well, what do you think, sailors?

If they wanted to look like Marines, they should've joined the Marine Corps!

    It's a sad day when a sailor doesn't look like a sailor!

Well, it wasn't exactly what I was going to say, but close.

Looks REALLY close to the Marine Corps uniforms.

Well, for those that don't know. For Sailors attached to Marine Commands, they did have the option to wear USMC uniforms provided that they adhered to Marine Corps regs.

Maybe they've finally realized it beats Cracker Jacks and Dixie cups, and that "Urbanish" camo will really help them blend in....to what, I don't know.

Can't say I am sorry to see "dungarees" go... but they should have kept the "Cracker Jack" uniform- it's iconic!

Uhhh, aren't the Marines actually a division of the Navy, but I like the old ones better.

I like them, but then I never liked how the Navy uniforms looked (however utilitarian they actually were). But then again I also got mad when the black beret in the Army was no longer just for Rangers, not that I was a Ranger; but have looked up to many of them.

I guess it doesn't matter much, you can still spot the Marines in the middle of all the new Navy uniforms by the look in their eyes

Without reading opinions prior to seeing the site, I thought exactly the same thing.

The working uniform isn't so bad, and would be fine for Seabees and shore bases, but shipboard uniform should remain the Dungarees.

Actually, yes. The Marine Corps is still a "Department of the Navy".

This is how/why there are Marines aboard naval vessels and bases.

The Marine Corps is part of the Department of the Navy. They are NOT a "department" of the Navy. The Commandant of the Marine Corps sits as an equal member of the JCS.....in fact, General Pace just finished his term as the Chairman of the JCS.

Drop and give me 50 for that, Marine!

That is why Marine stands for:

    My
    A
    Rides
    In
    Navy
    Equipment

Sorry, I have been holding on to that one for a while.
