Retired 1 year ago today as Chief of Police, after 26 years full time service. I'm currently working as chief of security for a local technical college. Also a firearms instructor for local police academy.

Swordsman - I see you registered way back - but doubt I managed to say welcome - at least not so as I remember.

Congratulations Sir on a prestigious career.

Thanks for the kind welcome, Chris. That's one of the things I like about this forum. I don't see the same kind of sniping that happens on some of the others.

Currently a fed (ok dont hold it against me I was once an honest cop), that does alot of flying 1st class. Prior to that I was a local cop working drug interdiction and SWAT. Also retired from Army (11 active and 10 reserve), last gig was protecting the Sec Def and others. One of these days I'll retire and enjoy the retirement checks.

If you ever see a red streak around the Downtown/Central Avenue corridor, I would appreciate it if you looked the other way....

Hopefully the Mods will cut me a little slack for joining this thread late. :c)

I started out as a military investigator when I was Active Duty Air Force. After I got out of the AF, during the RIF, I went to work as a local cop in the Southeast US. I worked patrol, DUI unit and was a member of our ERT ("SWAT") team. Sold my soul to the devil and went to work for the feds. I started out with one of the big name, well known alphabet agencies then did some time in the OIG world. Now I'm working for one of the smaller, much lesser known agencies and I'm happier than I've been in a decade. In addition to my regular duties, I am a tactical instructor; multiple weapons instructor (that just means I can instruct on any of the firearms in our inventory to include handguns, rifles, and SMG's); SPEAR's instructor; and I'm certfied to work in our dignitary protection details.

I enjoy the board greatly, and I'm trying to be a more productive and active member.
