    Congrats!!!!
The first day I pinned a Badge on, the Chief Deputy told me "We do a lot of important things, but nothing more important than going home to our families each night". Work smart, stay safe.
Oh, and +1 on keeping your CHL up.

Congrats on the new job...should be exciting.
Remember those CCW permit holders who identify themselves to you...no need to draw dawn and put 'em across the hood.

I'd still keep the permit so I could carry the gun that I wanted.

    Congrats, man.

It doesn't for you, but it would for my county's deputies. Even though they have to provide their own duty weapons, they aren't allowed to qualify with anything single action, even for off duty.

    Congrats.

And do keep up your CCW. You might be able to carry what you want now, but I've seen the winds change direction to many times in a public enviroment. I used to carry 1911's, but not anymore. The city clowncil decided no S/A would be allowed or covered by their umbrella. They even tried once to ban snubs.
You are under the thumb of a politician when it comes to your carry. Why shut a door of choice?

    Absolutely what sixto said.
And congrats, always try to treat every one like it was your mom!
That may sound strange but in the long run it will pay off.

Congrats and thanks for your service. Stay safe and take as much of the drug dealers money you guys can, better to go in to the coffers of the PD than back in to the arms or noses of the BG.

well, I understand all of what you're saying, but chl or no chl, the off-duty policies override anything, whether I have a chl or not won't affect what I can or can't carry off-duty
