It's official, I don't need CHL anymore
Its official, graduated from the 6 1/2 month academy this weekend. I did my first shift last night. Greatest job I've ever had.
I got to serve a warrant, worked my first auto accident-first on scene had major injuries, some traffic stops, pretty busy first night.
I hope to be online more since I'll have the time. I wasn't on much for the last few months.

If loose gun laws are good for criminals why do criminals support gun control?

Congratulations. Sounds as if the first night went pretty well. There will be shifts that will bore you to death and others that will go by so fast that you won't believe you worked at all. Good Luck.

Congratulations on graduation! I'd recommend keeping the CCW up to date. It may just come in handy when you don't want to show your LEO status.

I plan to keep my CHL up to date. In the title thread I said I don't need it anymore.....but I want it
just for the reason you state. Besides, its only $25 for 5 years for LEO to get a CHL and I don't have to qualify to renew when I provide dept qual info.

Keep yourself safe, also buy the top of the line bullet proof vest. I have a cop friend in Ann Arbor, MI who only used the vest supplied and did not want to spend the difference for the top of the line model.

Congrats, but if you go out of state.... you may not be covered to carry a gun even if you are an LEO without a CC license.
