Scheduled for US Secret Service POST test in 2weeks. Few ??s

Well like the title says, Im scheduled to take the test in 2 weeks and figured id ask if anyone has any insight into the test or has taken it recently. Im assuming its a general aptitude test but am wondering what format and subject matter is stressed the most.

Also can anyone recomend a decent study guide for the POST exam?

    Thanks,

    - John

Practice standing in a suit with your arms clasped in front or back. Being an usher at a church might help. : )

Ha ha! Not too far off if he was testing to be an Agent. However, the POST exam is utilized for those applying to be an Officer with the USSS Uniformed Division. More like normal police officer work. Another good way to practice for Agent work is to pick a really nice local hotel; stay awake for a couple of days so you are really good and tired; then go stand in the hallway outside a room for several hours. Halls and walls, baby...halls and walls.

    JPMuscle,
The POST is a very standard police entry level type test. Get a good night's rest and I am confident you will do well. Good luck in your endeavor!

Or hire a Suburban with a driver, wait for a good winter icy-rain storm in Washington DC, and then sit in the back seat as he drives you around for a few hours with your head half sticking out the back window...

We all wish you well and hope you can report a 'positive' result back to us soon.

Better yet, sit rear facing in the cargo area, have the driver accelrate/decelrate/turn randomly, with no warning, and see how long it takes you to get carsick.

That reminds me of a trip we were taking from a US compound in the a middle eastern country. At the same time we were leaving the CENTCOM commander was leaving that compound for another and for whatever reason they went by suburban instead of helo. We were staying 50-110 yards back and in the next lane. A car passed us trying to catch the convoy. The knucklehead in the passengers seat was making a pistol gesture with his hand as they approached the trailing vehicle. All of the sudden two gins were up against the back glass of the Sub. and the knuckleheads braked so hard it appeared they passed us going in reverse. They are rear facing for a reason and it is not the comfort of the protectors.

Go get a black suit a couple sizes too big and load yourself down with all the guns you own. Then, have a buddy drive a black Suburban down the road while you jog next to it. Remember to make a note of all the people who look at you in a strange or suspicious manner.
