    Law Enforcement .223

For those guys who are on departments or have buddies, we were suppose to be shooting .223 Hornady TAP rounds. Well our chief did not like the fact that they have penetration issues through auto glass. So if anybody could tell me what they are shooting in their rifles, so it might help speed up the process of us acquiring ammunition. Thanks alot for any help.

A local agency liked the Federal "T223S" load, a solid copper Barnes X bullet, when they tested in glass.

But they ended up going with something cheaper. Almost all the agencies around here have old M16 A1 rifles and stick to the 55gr bullets.

We use M855 62gr ball...but we shop at the same store the military does... :)

We are supposed to be getting in some 77gr Mk262 for our 10.5" uppers, but I'm not holding my breath.
A man fires a rifle for many years, and he goes to war. And afterward he turns the rifle in at the armory, and he believes he's finished with the rifle. But no matter what else he might do with his hands - love a woman, build a house, change his son's diaper - his hands remember the rifle.

We buy our own; it must be "55-grain jacketed softpoint" ammo, by policy. Plastic tips are not allowed. It is a big-city PD; I cannot be more specific on a publicly-viewed forum.
