DoD Identifies Army Casualty
The Department of Defense announced today the death of a soldier who was supporting Operation Enduring Freedom.
Spc. Justin D. Coleman, 21, of Spring Hill, Fla., died July 24 in Nuristan Province, Afghanistan, of wounds suffered when enemy forces attacked his unit using small arms and rocket-propelled grenade fires. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 32nd Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division (Light Infantry), Fort Drum, N.Y.

The PGR will be standing for SPC Coleman Sunday and Monday. From his wife we have learned that one of his concerns was that if he were killed in Afghanistan, he would be forgotten.
Please keep he and his family in your thoughts and prayers over the coming days, so we can make sure that neither he nor his sacrifice for our country are ever forgotten.
If you are so inclined, you can sign the guest book at the funeral home here: Guestbook, Crematory, Burials, Downing Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Spring Hill, FL

Battle Plan (n) - a list of things that aren't going to happen if you are attacked.
Blame it on Sixto - now that is a viable plan.

I'll be sure to keep him, his family, and his comrades in the 10th Mountain in my thoughts and prayers. It's still rather fresh for in me, but I don't know if the grief of losing comrades you have fought and trained with can ever go away. And I can't imagine the families pain.
His sacrifice will not be forgotten, at least not by those who serve. Every day someone don's a uniform in service to this country, it is a tribute to all who came before. There is a chance that within the next year I am headed back to SW Asia, and I'll honor him and all the fallen by finishing the job to the best of my ability until it is done.

Our hearts go out to SPC Coleman's family and we pray God helps them to find peace and comfort during these trying days.
