I found another job listing up around Tallahassee, but it required
60 college hours (which I have). It paid about the same but, might
be easier to work in northern Florida.

Key West would be OK... starting money seems low though. Be ready to deal with a lot of "diverse" residents.

Something else to keep in mind, only one road out of town. That can work for you and against you. If you have never been to Key West you should go. Everyone at least once in their life should enjoy a margarita while smoking a good cigar and watching the sun set at Mallory Square.

Key West PD also requires their officers to carry 'pink' Glocks, I think.

I've always heard that it's fairly "easy" to get hired in FL. The larger Metro departments have high attrition rates and are constantly recruiting. A low starting salary might be OK, but the question is how many steps to top pay.
Training means learning the rules. Experience means learning the exceptions.

DSP is a squared away job. My job works with them on a fairly regular basis and we have always enjoyed a solid working relationship.

YOU are bad bad bad bad!!
Sometimes in life you have to stand your ground. It's a hard lesson to learn and even most adults don't get it, but in the end only I can be responsible for my life. If faced with any type of adversity, only I can overcome it. Waiting for someone else to take responsibility is a long fruitless wait.
