Another Muslim Terrorist Cell Discovered in USA

(Najibullah Zazi ) Another terrorist cell was taken down, but the question remains did they arrest all of them and how many more remain under surveillance or worse, not even known to our FBI?

    HE WAS OUT TO KILL

Detectives were combing Queens storage facilities on Monday for stockpiled explosive chemicals that Al Qaeda terror thugs planned to use to bomb New York, sources said. At the same time, the Daily News has learned that prime terror suspect Najibullah Zazi has confessed he was a jihadist hell-bent on murderous mayhem, the sources said.

NYPD investigators, in coordination with the FBI, hit chemical and fertilizer companies looking for customers who bought bulk and paid cash - and they were also showing up at storage centers in Long Island City.

Investigators believe they were going to use the units to mix chemicals for explosives.

"They're full on, and still going full bore," a counterterror official said of the bomb hunt.

The Department of Homeland Security at the same time has issued a nationwide bulletin asking cops to look at storage facilities.

"Operation Nexus" took on an extra urgency after raids on Queens apartments Zazi visited turned up knapsacks and cell phones. The exact targets are not known, but the find raised the specter of simultaneous blasts like the 2004 attack that killed 191 commuters in Spain.

ABC News reported that investigators believe that there were three teams of four terrorists involved in the planning.

A senior counterterror official said nobody knows for sure who else is out there - or whether the plot is disrupted.

Arrest documents revealed the Denver-based Zazi was carrying a laptop with bomb-making notes when he visited New York on the 9/11 anniversary.

The feds also discovered his fingerprints on batteries and other items that could be used to make explosives. The feds are also investigating reports that Afghan men tried to rent a 26-foot truck from a Queens U-Haul on Sept. 9.

Fertilizer bombs packed into a truck were used by terrorists to attack the federal building in Oklahoma City in 1995.

Meanwhile, a bail hearing for Ahmad Afzali, a 37-year-old Queens imam charged with tipping off Zazi that the FBI was on to him was delayed until Thursday. He blew kisses to his wife and father before he was led back to his cell. His lawyer Ron Kuby insisted Afzali was helping investigators when he spoke on Sept. 11 with Zazi, 25.

In Denver, a bail hearing for Zazi was also put off until Thursday. His dad, Mohammed, was ordered released on $50,000 bail and confined to his home. Father and son are charged with lying to the feds. Their cases are expected to be transferred to New York.

The FBI said Zazi, arrested in Colorado on Saturday, has admitted being trained in "weapons and explosives" last year at an Al Qaeda camp in Pakistan.

And sources said for the first time that he admits he was out to kill.

The fears of a mass attack, possibly a hit on the transit system, were revealed last week when the feds raided several Flushing apartments that Zazi visited. He returned home Sept. 12. The feds contend Afzali is a double agent who tipped off Zazi - and then lied about it.

FBI wiretaps caught Zazi's father telling his son that he'd gotten a call from Afzali warning him the G-men were showing his photo, authorities said.

While Zazi was on the phone with his dad, Afzali called the suspected terrorist and told him, "They asked me about you guys." Kuby confirmed Afzali had passed on tips to the feds, but insisted he had not warned Zazi.

Gotta' be careful out there, if the FBI agents get too agressive...they themselves may be investigated by the US AG...

The obvious Post Script here is that we still live in remarkably dangerous and serious times. It therefore behooves us to be always armed and well armed at that. Serious guns/calibers for serious times. This article concerns a potential terror attack using explosives. Not much ccw can do to stop that but that's not all there is to an OFFENSIVE like this on home soil. I am NOT however, suggesting anything like direct action. Be a good witness, keep your eyes peeled and look at everything more deeply than usual. But remain armed (well armed) so that you have defensive capability to stay alive and be that critical ... good witness. In this war, there is no "rear area" and no "front lines." The enemy isn't wearing uniforms and the although good guys do ... only sometimes. More importantly: We are ALL at risk. This is something the sheep seem to have put to bed. They have retreated into a pre-911 mindset. That just sets us up for an even more catastrophic event or series of events. That's why we Sheepdogs need to have our minds "in the game" even more so now.

Soo sad but absolutely true. This POS Obama is cutting the nuts of all our agencies to the point that they are going to be too cautious about anything they do, and who is going to suffer, us the ordinary citizen. We at work were talking about Obama and said sure enough before his watch comes to an end we are going to get hit again. God I hope his ass isn't re-elected in the next election.

Maybe I'm missing something, but it seems that another terror attack in the USA would be fairly easy to pull off, despite our efforts. I can think of a number of ways that I won't mention.

With a piece of human fecal matter like the obamessiah we don't need enemies. He, and his cohorts will do more damage to this Republic than any of our enemies ever could.

It's just a matter of time folks. I believe we will be hit by a sucessful terrorist plot. If we manage to catch the doers of the evil deed, those that arrested the evil-doers will be investigated, charged, tried and convicted under the Attorney General we have.

What a great conundrum we face.

I totally agree. Worse, it wouldn't surprise me to see a WMD used and maybe more than one or more than one type WMD. I could see a nuke, a nerve agent attack and a biotoxin attack all at the same time in different areas of the nation. There's been more than enough time to bring in the requisite materials across the Mexican or Canadian borders.

I heard today that Afzali was an informant with the NYPD. A NY cop told Afzali that the FBI had been inquiring about his friend.

I call that a serious leak.

All good advice. Unfortunately, the people of New York have limited ability to arm themselves. I just spent two days in our Bronx office on business and I had to listen to some disturbing banter among some of the employees. They were all bashing each others neighborhoods because to the number of murders. I guess they just don't know any better. I certainly wouldn't live there. I hate going there because I can't carry.

I agree that it is only a matter of time, and [B]WILL[B]occur under the current regimes watch. The events of the past few days certainly make me glad I don't live in NY, and has me considering a heavier hitting rifle or carbine than I currently possess.

This place is a friggin' mess now aint it? Maybe we'll just load up and head out to Alaska. How many terrorists have any reason to go to Alaska? Me thinks I have a new mission in life now.

What scares me is how "cheap" an attack can be put together from right within our borders. I'm not even talking about truck bombs, but backpack set-ups used in high traffic areas. Effective and hard to defend against. VERY scary stuff. We(all of us)have to stay on our toes. An armed civilian might wind up being the first line of defense here on our own streets!
