I'm sure you already know this but 223 and 5.56 are the same caliber ammo. One is measured in inches while the other is in millimeters. Fifty eight cents a round+shipping sounds a mite pricey. Hindsight is 20-20 to be sure.
    ---------
I am rescinding my former statement that 223 and 5.56 are the same. Apparently there are subtle differences which could prove dangerous down the line mixing ammo/barrels.

I apologize to all owners/shooters of 223 and 5.56 weapons.

yes i know they are different I have 2 guns that are only .223 The rest are 5.56. You aint kidding that .58 a round is pricey I was getting it for .34 a round before all this. I have a limit that I don't fall below and for last months 3 gun match I had to order some online and paid .73 a round for it. Worse case is no one else wants it and the wifey gets mad for a while that is why I am trying to just get my money back. lol

Not gonna find bulk for less than that on the internet (meaning you're not gonna find it unless you camp outside a store).

Umm... careful, there. The same caliber, to be sure, caliber being defined essentially as the diameter of the projectile. But there are some subtle differences in both the cartridges and their respective chamber dimensions that bear paying attention to. Pay close attention to what your weapon is chambered to/for.

What's stamped on the barrel is what the gun is chambered in. Not necessarily what's on the lower.

5.56 is loaded hotter to NATO specs and therefore will have higher chamber pressures. It is much better to shoot a regular diet of .223 from a 5.56 barrel than it is to shoot 5.56 from a .223 barrel. If it was the same there would be no need to mark AR barrels.

I would armslist it in your local area...... 550 is not overly terrible but shipping would be costly due to material handling fees and weight.
