About LinkBacksI just moved to Orlando from Knoxville TN and I don't know a single person. I wasn't sure if any of the Florida members ever meet up to go shooting?
Also didn't know if there are any outdoor ranges near Orlando?

I work in Tampa, but live in Lakeland, about 50 miles west of Orlando. I am always looking for someone to shoot/hunt with. I would enjoy getting together with a group of people from DC to meet at a range.

Welcome to the Sunshine state.
There is more activity than you could imagine. There's a gunshow 4 times a year at the fair grounds. and if you go to:

you can get some IDPA info that might be a really good way to meet some serious shooters. If you are willing to drive a bit there are activities at the Gun Shop and Gun Range in Leesburg about 50 minutes up the Turnpike:

Go to your nearest Shoot Straight store and ask around about clubs and ranges.

You should hav no problem finding things to do and people to do them with.
You only have to hang around Orlando in the evening and you'll be doing some shooting.
I call Orlando and Jax the 'extra mag' towns.

I live in the North side of Orlando. Regularly go to shoot straight and Gander Mountain. Shoot Straight is having the grand opening of their new range in Casselberry next to where the old one used to be at the end of this month.
I have been seriuosly thinking of joining the Volusia County Gun Club and do IDPA matches. It is only 20 minutes from the Sanford/Lake Mary area.

Volusia County Gun Club is a good one. Used to work with a couple of members. I live a very long way from there or I would have considered when I worked in Sanford. Wouldn't walk in Shoot Straight if they were giving away free guns, but that is another story.

East Orange Shooting Sports is the best in town. Oakridge Gun Range is second....both $11-12 as long as you want to stay. East Orange very CCW friendly, Oakridge not at all.

I live in Tampa and have brother in Orlando. When we shoot in O town we go to Shoot Straight. IMHO the ventilation is poor and it is always stifling hot inside their range. We meet in Lakeland's tenoroc range for out door pistol and rifle shooting. tenoroc.us is their web. It's 12 bucks all day and they have archery, skeet/trap range and a good fishing hole.
