When: June 6th
Where: Rivanna Rifle & Pistol Club (RRPC)
1570 Old Lynchburg Road
Charlottesville, VA 22903
Time: Dinner, 6:30 p.m.
Meeting 7:30 p.m.
We are pleased to announce guest speakers from the Charlottesville Police
Department and Albemarle Sheriff's Office at the next VCDL meeting held at
RRPC. Representatives from both departments will be discussing how their
officers are trained for interaction with law abiding gun owners during
traffic stops and other encounters. These meetings have proven to be very
informative in the past and we are looking forward to hearing this
presentation.
As in the past, we will begin with a pot luck dinner at 6:30 p.m. The main
course will be ravioli and meatballs. Drinks will also be provided. Please
bring a dish to share if you are able. If you cannot bring a dish, please
don't let that keep you from joining us, there is always plenty! Those
attending the dinner please RSVP to pat.webb@vcdl.org and include the number
eating dinner in the subject line (i.e. subject: 2 for dinner 6/6). No
need to RSVP if you are not eating dinner. The meeting will begin at 7:30.
A big "thank you" to RRPC for hosting these meetings. Their continued hospitality
is greatly appreciated. Please remember that you do not need to be a member
of either VCDL or RRPC to attend. In fact, we encourage you to bring
friends. If you live in the area, this is an excellent opportunity to visit
a great range and check out what they have to offer! We look forward to
seeing you on June 6th.

VCDL does not take a position on Open vs. Concealed carry -- or even care if you attend our events w/o carrying. It's your call.
However, safety mishaps, particularly with firearms, expose the organization to liability issues and could significantly damage VCDL's credibility as a gun rights organization. At all events, the rules and requirements of the sponsor/promoter shall be strictly observed.
Therefore, whenever the owner/sponsor/promoter permits loaded firearms, and at all VCDL-sponsored meetings, events, or gatherings, loaded firearms shall NOT be handled at any non-range activities -- they will remain holstered or otherwise secured at all times.
