Vintage Military Rifle Match: Saturday, May 18. Any military rifle issued before 1960 with iron sights is eligible (sorry, no ARs). Match will consist of five-shot strings prone, kneeling and standing at 100, 200 and 300 yards each, for a total of 45 rounds. Registration will be at 9 a.m., with shooting starting at 10 a.m. Prizes will be awarded for the top three places. So dust off those Garand, 98k, 1903, Mosin Nagant and Lee Enfield rifles, etc., and see what they'll do. Entry fee is $20 per shooter/rifle, so you can enter multiple rifles if you pay the entry fee for each one. All shooting matches held at the North Hansell Shooting Sports Complex are hosted by the Franklin County PIstol and Rifle Club.
AR-style (modern) Military Rifle Match: Saturday, June 15. Course of fire will be five-shot strings prone, kneeling and standing at 100, 200 and 300 yards each, for a total round count of 45. There will be divisions for optical sights (scopes and red dots, etc.), and iron sights. Any modern military style rifle may be used, including AR-15s, AK-47s and AK 74s, SKSs, Sig Sauer 556s, HK 91/93s, FN SCARs, etc. No AP or Tracer rounds will be allowed. Registration will be a 9 a.m., with shooting at 10 a.m. Fee wil be $20 per shooter/rifle, so can enter multiple rifles if you pay the entry fee for each one.
Ladies' Pistol Shoot: Saturday, July 20, 2013. The Franklin County Pistol and Rifle Club will host a pistol fun shoot for women beginning at 10 a.m. Ladies may bring their own pistols, and a variety of different types of pistols will be available for ladies to try. NRA-certified handgun instructors will be on hand, as well as experienced pistol shooters, so come on out and give it a try.
We are also planning monthly three-gun matches again. I'll post them here as soon as we've got them scheduled.
