    Grand Forks, North Dakota???

    Anybody from the Grand Forks, ND area? I'll be there next week, just wanted to get a taste for the place....points of interest, good places to eat, good watering holes..etc.

    Not sure if this reply comes to late, but I'll give it a shot as I went to school there. For places to eat check out Whitey's in East Grand Forks, it's a local icon. They were completely wiped out in the '97 flood and rebuilt. There is also a Cabela's in EGF in the same area as Whitey's. There is also a good place in downtown Grand Forks called Joe DiMaggio's, they have pretty good burgers from what I remember. Not sure of the hours but if you get a chance, take a walk through UND's hockey arena...it rivals many of today's NHL rinks. Hope that helps, it's been a few years since I was there so I'm not up to date on the latest bars and any new resturants that may have popped up.
