    Visiting Dallas Texas March 9-13th

I am going to be in Dallas, Texas for a confrence from March 11-13. I am flying in on the 9th few days early. Is there anything that I must see and anything to avoid while in Dallas. I plan on taking my Glock 26 with me. Any good ranges? Any CCW teachers in the Dallas area?

If you are going to be in Dallas proper, go to DFW Gun Range.

You may want to check out the 6th floor museum, if you are interested in the JFK assassination at all.

Maybe we could finally get the get together Kerb has been trying to do since we'll have visitors

There isn't a whole lot of fun in Dallas itself, they would rather build a $500M convention center hotel than improve what they already have. If you have the time, I suggest the Fort Worth Stock Yards, and I say this as someone show doesn't like going to Tarrant County much.

I am free after 3.30 ish on the 9th thru eveing of the 10th. If you want to meet up I am pretty much up for anything. Let me know if you want to make a trip to the range and I will send down some 9 mm ammo if buying locally is difficult. Do I need to rent a car?

It depends on where you are staying and what all you plan to do. I would recommend getting a car, the DFW Metroplex is kinda spread out.

I have never rented a car at DFW Airport, I hear it can be an adventure. Pop for the GPS, unless you have one you can travel with. Downtown Dallas has a lot of 1 way streets that make no sense in the layout.

Staying at the Dallas Sherdan. I was thinking about taking the shuttle to the hotel and maybe renting car there. I am in the car rental business and have al the additional airport taxes and fees added on. Will let you know.

I was in Dallas/Ft. Worth 2yrs ago for some training. One place we hit and I highly recommend is the Stockyards. There's a resturant there that has all you can eat beef ribs. Riscky's BBQ. Its worth it, trust me!
Oh and then hit Billy Bob's across the way for a Lone Star beer.
