11 weeks: No Kydex, No Word!!! What's Up???

I don't like posting a thread like this here but have made multiple attempts to contact Mark at Midworld with no success. I'm hoping he gets this or somebody knows how to contact him.

11 weeks ago I placed an order of the ohio special for my M&P through PayPal. I knew mark was a one man shop with family so I waited 7 weeks to contact him about my order. I promptly got a response with apology saying the holster would be shipped out the next week. 4 weeks later and I have no holster and have not heard back from him. I tried to email his site twice and requested a refund through PayPal yesterday, they won't give it.

3 months for Kydex is a bit much. No communion within the last 4 weeks after product was promised takes it. If something came up that's fine. Communicate it. Has anybody else got an order from Midworld in the past 3 months? Did my order and multiple emails fall through the cracks somehow?

I'm at a loss what to do. Last email I requested a refund although the holster would be fine. I don't want to wait 3 more months for it though.

You learned a valuable lesson about not buying holsters from people who may be here today and gone tomorrow. There are so many reputable holster makers out there that have been in business for a long time, that make holsters in just about any configuration out there. Sometimes we try to save some money and it ends up costing us more.

That's why I put almost everything on my VISA card. I went though this one time and wound up phoning VISA to report a fraud.

Then I sent another email to the company (it was for a bed skirt, not shooting related) telling them what I did. I got the bed skirt sent to me THAT DAY. So I phoned VISA back and told them the charge was OK.

I don't know why Pay Pal won't give you any help.

I did have to wait almost 3 months for a modular belly band holster I ordered from CrossBreed. Then it was unusable for my body type (female) so I had to return it to them. Bummer all the way around.

What is a bed skirt? LOL at me = just kidding.

I agree with using a credit cart for protection, but I also love giving the small 'MOM and POP' shops my business if they have the product I want ar a good price point.

Yeah, I should have said dust ruffle, except it isn't ruffled. Oh well.......

When I go through PayPal when dealing with small private companies I still use my VISA card. Haven't had an occasion to find out if I still get the same top rate VISA back up that way or not.

It's stories like that of the OP and my own childhood experiences that soured me on what was called mail order in the olden days. I mailed my money and order on 2 occasions and received nada or crap. I lived half my life before I took a chance again. Now I am not as hardened as I once was but I am still cautious.

When it's a local business that's screwed me over I just badmouth them forever. Sometimes going through the Better Business Bureau or something similar can get you the product or your money returned. Sometimes you're just stuck.
Just thinking of the times people/employers and businesses have jacked me makes me wanna hurl something stout...

Look at it this way. Sooner or later the fly by nite outfit will wrong the WRONG person. There's still lots of people that got acreage and a shovel or hogs. Bad people disappear all the time.

    Ya hear THAT New Jersey?!?!?

I did'nt save any money with this $85 Kydex holster. I bought it due to reviews from this forum specifically mike1956. I was looking for a IWB to accommodate my M&P with delta point mini red dot. Most holster makers don't want to deal with "custom" orders. After being burned here I did call Milt Sparks and they are making a versamax to fit my gun.

If I am being burned and this wasn't an honest mistake I just want others to know not to throw good money at bad holster makers.

I almost ordered one of those Ohio Specials. Decided to go with Raven Concealment instead. Glad I did now.

I really don't want to bash on the dude who burned you. There might be an extremely good reason he hasn't made your holster yet(family issues/emergency, fire in his shop, or other unforeseen occurrence). But I fully understand your situation and don't fault you one bit for being ticked off. Hope everything works out and you can at least get your money refunded.

Well crap, I placed an order for his appendix holster 3 weeks ago - and was just starting to get curious+upset why I hadn't seen any status updates, or emails.
I too hadn't worried to much about it cause I was pretty sure I'd seen positive reviews of his products from some of our members.

Guess I get to go try to figure out how to get my money back. That really sucks.

PayPal should totally be able to help. Keep all of your sent emails, call their support number and explain. THAT IS WHY PayPal exists in the second place.

I'm not sure what the delay is with Mark at Midworld, but in my experience he has always made good on his commitments. I anticipate he will be along here shortly.

I've bought from Mark/Midworld before and they did well by me. I had to wait just 2 weeks for my holster. He is a one man show like a lot of holster makers. Something might have come up (sickness, sick kid, accident, death in the family, etc.). I understand if this soured your experience though, but contact mark personally and sort it out with him.

I would open a dispute with pay-pal I have done it in the past buying things on eBay. Your monies will be credited back to you. I personally would not have waited 4 weeks for a response. Things in life do happen but if I were not getting any communication after I emailed for a refund i would immediately open a dispute in pay- pal
