    Talking Newbie

    Hi everyone,

    I'm new to the forum and I don't CCW yet. I'm originally from California, where they don't even allow CCW but I live in San Angelo, TX now. Anyhow, I've just applied for my CCW permit/license yesterday. I know I still have to get the packet in the mail and get fingerprinted and all that but I was wondering if there is anyone out there who can tell me what to expect during the process and if there's anything I can do to speed the process along. I know I have to take a handgun safety course, too. I plan on getting the Taurus PT709 "Slim" as my CCW; I'm just waiting for my TX driver's license to come in the mail so I can go down and pick one up. From what I've read so far, PT709 owners are in love with it and I'm glad to hear it.
