    Cool NC Newbe

    Just wanted to introduce myself. I've been lurking here for a while learning as much as I could gather from everyone's experience. I decided it was time to post.

    I'm Tracer. I'm originally from Pittsburgh, Pa but have lived in Winston Salem, NC for the better part of 15 years. I spent 6 years in the Navy (USS Enterprise CVN-65) as a nuke machinist mate. I am employed in the Window/ glass industry as a GM. I'm an avid bow hunter(Traditional longbow) and fisherman. I have 2 early teens who I have also taught to shoot.

    I'm new to CC and hand guns in general. I have hunted my whole life but never owed a handgun till last year. A good friend of mine is a CC instructor and he got me interested. I enjoyed the class and the shooting as well. He helped me decide and purchase my first handgun, a Bersa thunder .380 to which I added CT grips. I now carry every day. I also picked up a SA GI 1911 in OD green. Love that gun! Yes, I do carry the 1911 in a home made IWB holster even in shorts and a baggy T shirt.

    Since I obtained my NC CHP, I have attended numerous gun shows, Tea party events, attended the NRA convention Charlotte, joined the NRA and GRNC, and visit the gun range regularly. I guess you could say that I have become active in sticking up for my rights and my eyes were opened when I decided to carry.

    This is a great site. I am looking forward to learning as much as I can from this site and the good people on here.
