    Howdy All

First off, thanks everyone for your participation here. I'm semi-new to this and I got a lot from lurking and reading old posts.

I got my permit yesterday and did my first CC yesterday. Only funny thing that happened was that I got a strange look from my daughter after a hug :) But, smart girl that she is, she figured out right away what was going on and handled it just right (which was to say nothing). We did the whole "gun safety/education" thing but I didn't tell the kids before we left the house that I was carrying. Anyway, now they know.

I am currently carrying a Kimber Tactical Pro II which is awesome. Only problem I've had is that the stubby right-hand safety (required to fit the crimson trace grips) broke on me and scratched the finish :( Kimber part too... Zero problems with the important stuff.

I'm waiting for the Gen 4 Glock 23 to come out. This will likely become my primary carry gun.

I'm on the long wait list at TT Gunleather and the shorter list at CompTac.

I'm very interested (but know little) in gun law and the Constitution. I've been following closely the goings on in Chicago. Glad to see that we have 5 Justices that can understand english. Concerned that 4 Justices voted the way they did. I don't understand how they got there.

Anyway, glad to know some of you "good guys" are packing out there because certainly the bad guys are.

Welcome to the forum! Congratulations on your permit as well!
So...I gotta ask.......have you had the 3rd generation G23? What is it you like or want most from a 4th generation G23? Because it's the current model? Just wondering. I'm all about Glock, (sort of seasoned with them actually) and looking for some of the reasons the 4th generation might go over well with the seasoned hands so-to-speak. I rented the Gen 3 (and the S&W M&P). I shot a little better with the Glock and seemed to like the trigger better. Other than that, it was a toss up.

I handled a Gen 4 (17?) and liked the bigger mag release and bigger slide release. I also like the idea that the new spring mechanism reduces felt recoil, although I haven't shot them side by side to tell if it is real or not. I think I like the RTF gen 4 better as well.

But, having never owned a Glock before, could be all newbie hogwash :)

Yep. Had that discussion. My kids are talkers ;) No friends, no uncles, no grandparents. Nobody needs to know.
