Well, I've been posting already but I neglected to say hi. I'm a stay-at-home mom, started thinking I should learn how to defend myself & fam, and a year later here I am with a CCW and a Taurus 38 special which I am still learning how to shoot before doing actual real-life carrying. Funny thing, my father-in-law (hi Lee!) has given me several veeery generous gift certs to the range, and he owns a couple of lovely revolvers -- but he hasn't shot them yet, not once. And my husband is too busy brewing beer to get into shooting (he makes great beer though). We're having date night at the range soon to try out some other guns, so maybe someday he'll carry. It's just funny to me, all your posts about how you try to get your wives interested in guns and it just doesn't work -- yeah, I feel your pain
BTW, I really do say howdy, I'm a transplanted Texan
When I start to carry for real I will update this to something awesome and clever. Or at least different.

Welcome to the forum from Virginia.
Having spent 24 years in the military I was transplanted several time. Spent 17 years in Oklahoma 13 of it while on active duty. Even though I was born and raised in Indiana, I consider myself an Okie.

Welcome from Southwestern Virginia. Nothing wrong with being transplanted. Us military veterans on here all know what it's like, we've been transplanted plenty of times. Especially if you're a military brat, "and" a veteran, like me, I've been transplanted all my life! Kick up your feet and stay a while. Great forum. Lots of friendly folks and lots of good advice and conversation.

Sometimes in life you have to stand your ground. It's a hard lesson to learn and even most adults don't get it, but in the end only I can be responsible for my life. If faced with any type of adversity, only I can overcome it. Waiting for someone else to take responsibility is a long fruitless wait.
