Hi, from Crook Co. Il.
Hi everyone, this is my first post and it's been almost a year since I joined... Now that the elections are over, I will not be able to carry any time soon
. I've been shooting since '94 and REALLY would like to carry everyday, not just inside my home.
This forum is fantastic and maybe I'll be a little more active on the boards...

Crook County ... that's Daley's nest, isn't it? My condolences.
There are, however, lots of sane and rational people who live in Illinois. Hopefully the stupidity that's so rampant amongst the temporarily-elected criminals that annually deprive IL citizens of their right to bear arms will at some point (soon) be sent out of town "on a rail".

Yes it WAS Daley's nest, he's NOT running for mayor again
But they idiots that live in Illinois did elect an anti-gun governor... This is THE MOST corrupt state, IMO. So it's hard to deal with alot of things, like the 9.75% sales tax, used to be 10%. Crooked ex-governors (three in a row), very few places to shoot (where I live). I drive an hour away to a private pistol club to shoot safely, two hour plus drive to shoot high-power rifles. It really sucks living in an anti-gun state and no, I'm not moving...yet.

Oooh, I hit a nerve there. Glad to see some folks who live within the city limits are still shooting. I've got some family there myself, and friends with family there.
Want to hear something really enticing? Oregon doesn't disallow machine guns. Basically, all Class III stuff is kosher, with a smile and nod from the sheriff. Of course, the sheriff could deny the signature, but that's rare. So, the annual machine gun shoots are a hoot, where you can basically shoot everything from a Glock 18 select-fire to heavy guns for mounting on military trucks. Last year, there was a tank. Next year, who knows? I'll think of you, the next M60 I fire. Concealed carry everywhere. Open carry's fine. Except for the missing heavy "Castle" type statutes and "teeth" in the laws for over-reaching law enforcement folk who engage in their petty little crap in the larger cities, it's pretty great.
