    Hello from Louisiana...

Hey guys, my name is Robert. Im 26 years old and im a full time Firefighter here in the city, love it. Anyway, I recently bought a new 40 caliber Glock 23 generation 4 and took a concealed carry class. Im waiting on the state to review my application and send my permit. Ive been around firearms all my life and love shooting, very big on duck hunting. I do NOT shoot animals for the fun of it, dont believe in it. This Glock is my first pistol and I have to say, I really like it alot. I did pretty good with it the other day when we had to shoot for the class. Im looking to start carrying this Glock concealed with a ankle holster when I get my permit. My life hasnt been threatend are anything, just looking to have something if I run into a bad experience. Hopefully I dont have to use it. But with the way the world is going, you never know what tomorrow holds. Its sad, very sad. Anyway, looking forward to spending alot of time here and learning. Thanks, Robert

Welcome to the DC Forum from Delaware! I also like the .40 cal, and was going to get the Glock 23, but opted for the SA XD40 SC. Enjoy and be careful on the job.

    Welcome from South Carolina...
Sometimes in life you have to stand your ground. It's a hard lesson to learn and even most adults don't get it, but in the end only I can be responsible for my life. If faced with any type of adversity, only I can overcome it. Waiting for someone else to take responsibility is a long fruitless wait.

Welcome to the forum from Virginia.

JMO, but you might want to reconsider the ankle holster. It is difficult to get to your gun with it in an ankle holster, not to mention it is quite obvious when you bend down and pull up the pant leg to access it. IWB is a better option and there are plenty of holsters available that will make your gun disappear on your body.
